Welding & Gate Repair

On-Site Welding & Gate Repair Across West Sussex

The locksmith who welds. One visit. Complete job.

When a gate fails, hinge snaps, frame cracks, latch shears off, most people have to make two separate calls. First a locksmith to deal with the lock. Then a welder to fix the metalwork. That means two call-outs, two wait times, two bills, and often a gap of days between visits while your property sits unsecured.

I’ve set up West Sussex Lock & Weld specifically to solve that problem. I carry my welding equipment alongside my locksmith tools, so when a gate or railing needs both — I handle it all on one visit.

The Problem with Calling Two Separate Trades

Gate Repairs & Rehinging

Gates take a battering from weather, heavy use and general wear. A gate that droops, won’t close properly or has snapped from its post is a real security problem. I can reattach dropped gates, weld cracked or broken frames, repair or replace hinges and refit the lock — all in a single visit.

Lock Fitting to Metal Gates

Fitting a lock properly to a metal gate needs more than a drill. I weld mounting plates and strike boxes directly onto the gate frame, giving you a solid, permanent fixing that won’t shift or work loose over time. It’s a far more secure solution than anything bolted on.

Railing & Metalwork Repairs

Damaged railings, cracked metal frames around access points, broken security bars — if it’s security-related metalwork, get in touch and I’ll tell you whether I can help.

What I Don’t Do — And Why That Matters

I want to be upfront: I specialise in practical, precision welding that connects directly to locksmith work — gates, hinges, railings and security-related metalwork. I’m not set up for heavy structural fabrication or large-scale MIG welding projects.

If you’re not sure whether your job is something I can help with, just call me and I’ll give you an honest answer. I’d rather tell you upfront than waste your time.

A More Secure Property — From One Visit

A gate with a good lock but a broken hinge isn’t a secure gate. True security means the lock and the metalwork are both solid. By combining both skills in a single visit, I can leave your property in a genuinely better state — not just half-fixed.

A wealth of welding skill and experience.

I know that welding isn’t something most people know a great deal about — which means you’re trusting me to do a job you can’t easily check yourself. I take that seriously. Every weld I put on a gate, hinge or frame is done to last, not to look good long enough for me to drive away. I’ve been doing this work long enough to know the difference between a repair that holds and one that fails six months later — and I won’t cut corners just because you might not notice. If a job needs more work than originally expected, I’ll tell you before I do it, not after.
